Documented IT Standards: Scoping the Strategy for Change


The IT Lifecycle

Most businesses use Information technology to run their Services and Goods flow with their customers.

This is a breakdown of the Cycle that Introduces IT change into one of these businesses.

Scope

Vamosoft provide scoping services to clients initially. This enables our Customers to understand what a strategy for change means. Spending on IT is expensive enough without deploying change at cost without advantage to business. Scoping is a fixed cost service and is applied to all Customers to highlight the direction and strategy for change.

Consultancy

Once a direction is established Consultancy is used to connect together the people and the ideas to form a working partnership of change within your business. These can take the form of workshops and meetings to gather the facts prior to any implementation for change.

Solution

At this stage a solution is developed for client. This can involve design and testing of software components and the evolution of an idea from design into electronic real estate.

Specification

Detailed paperwork and diagrams supporting chosen development route. This should include a pseudo-english description of the required business logic and rules

Proof of Concept 

An Electronic Deliverable used to resolve debate and review and agree functional requirements. Customer customisation of look and feel can begin to be specified at this stage.

Capacity Planning

Sizing the solution in terms of Hardware and Software resources required to run the final executable. This can include server response testing and database tuning to maximise response.

User Acceptance Testing

This is the final stage of testing. A log of errors is created and held on file for future reference. Ongoing changes and fixes applied to your system for final Implementation

The Go Live

Timetabled event which coincides with up to date training on software and workflow changes in the the office environment.

Support

Fully supported software, by telephone, email, help systems and updates and revisions as required.

Further Requirements

System rules and changes that apply to the business in some cases extending the functionality of your product to involve more of your business processes.

Management Information Systems

As your application is fully managed and supported customers find the MIS reports facility useful.
